New appointments for ANZ in Tonga and Cook Islands [1]

ANZ Pacific leadership update
ANZ on 13 November announced some strategic leadership changes in Cook Islands and Tonga. Subject to the relevant regulatory approvals, Jason Murray, currently Country Head, Cook Islands, will become Country Head, Tonga and David Dudley, currently Country Head, Tonga, will take on the role of Country Head, Cook Islands, effective from 1 March 2026.
Sarah Stubbings, Regional Executive, Pacific, said: “These changes demonstrate ANZ’s commitment to delivering strong, adaptable leadership across the Pacific and further strengthen our capability in two of our core markets.
“We thank Jason and David for the significant contributions they have made in Tonga and the Cook Islands and congratulate them on their new appointments. Both Jason and David are passionate about building high-performing teams and supporting local communities, and I’m confident they will bring the very best of ANZ to their new roles.”
Jason Murray – incoming Country Head, Tonga
Jason has led ANZ’s Cook Islands business since August 2022, driving improvements in process, asset quality, and portfolio management. Known for his collaborative style and commercial acumen, Jason has built strong
relationships with customers, regulators, and community stakeholders. Jason brings over two decades of banking experience and was the Commercial Head in Kiribati for three years prior to taking on the Country Head role in the Cook Islands.
David Dudley – incoming Country Head, Cook Islands
David brings over 35 years of experience at ANZ and has led the Tonga business for the past seven years. His tenure has been marked by resilience and strategic leadership through natural disasters, economic shifts, and regulatory change. David has also served as Chair of the Association of Banks in Tonga and maintained strong relationships with the Reserve Bank and other key stakeholders.
