Tongan tennis players from around the kingdom and from overseas competed in a national tennis tournament, at the National Tennis Centre in Tongatapu from 31 October to November 4. 

The "2025 Universal Pharmacy and Clinic Tonga Open Tournament" results were released today by the the National Development Officer, Reuel Lavaka.

“Competition was strong throughout all levels and this is a great way to end a positive 2025. This tournament will assist us in selecting national teams for international competition through all levels,” he said.

“We also had a team event where players from each region contested against each other to take home glory for their region. Team Niua won the team event.

“Anaise Maka, our top junior female, dominated the event and took out the crown as National Champion for Juniors and Women’s. Filipe Huni, our top local player, took out the Open Singles title but fell short against dark horse eventual winners in the doubles, Teufolau Huni and Reuel Lavaka.”
