Hundreds of primary and secondary students marched through central Nuku'alofa to the Royal Palace today, 4 November, to mark the final day of the celebrations of the Sesquicentennial Celebrations of the Constitution of Tonga.
The students were led by colorful brassbands on a sunny afternoon, bringing out hundreds of people to watch the marching.
Students began marching from Mala'aekula to the Royal Palace to pay respects to King Tupou VI, after a Royal Luncheon at the Mala'e Pangai.
The student marches today is one of the last celebratory events held in commemoration of the anniversary of the Constitution of Tonga.
Tonight the celebrations conclude with a Tūtūpakanava (traditional torch lighting) by Secondary and Tertiary schools and a fireworks display by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Tonga on the waterfront of Nuku'alofa.
