Tongans defeated in first round of Pacific Cup [1]

Both Tongan teams, the Tautahi Gold and Tau'uta Reds, lost to their Fijian and Samoan opponents in the opening round of the 2008 Pacific Cup that kicked off during the weekend.

The Fiji Warriors on Friday, April 18 defeated the Tautahi Gold 21-19 at Churchill Park in Lautoka, while the Upolu Samoa defeated the Tau'uta Reds 20-12 at Teufaiva Stadium, Nuku'alofa, on Saturday April 19.

The Savai'i Samoa defeated the Fiji Barbarians 17-13 at Apia Park, Samoa on Friday, April 18.

Round Two

In Round two of the Pacific Cup the Fiji Barbarians will meet the Upolu Samoa at the National Stadium in Suva on April 25.

While the Savai'i Samoa play against the Fiji Warriors at Prince Edward Park, Savai'i on April 26 and the Tongan teams the Tau'uta and Tautahi will play against each other at Teufaiva Stadium on April 26.
