Mo'unga Olive College athlete confirmed to win 1500m Gold [1]

Mo’unga Olive College’s Kasilita Tu’akalau, was named the gold medalist for the first event, Girls 1500m track, of the TongaHealth Secondary Schools Athletic Sports Competition on Tuesday, 8 April 2025.
After a misunderstanding at Teufaiva Stadium, where Kasilita was deprived of her first gold medal, ‘Apifo’ou College was announced as the winner of the first event, on Radio Tonga, after it was thought, wrongly, that the Mo'unga Olive athlete had not completed three rounds.
The result was investigated and it was found that she had completed three rounds.
An official result sheet now shows Kasilita Tu'akalau as the winner of the 1500m race, winning the first gold medal of the competition for Mo’unga Olive College.
Silver was awarded to Seraphim Tu’akalau of Mo’unga Olive College, while ‘Eniselina Lataipangai of Queen Salote College earned third place.
Meanwhile, Tupou College Toloa’s newest star athlete, Titali Kolomalu, outran Liahona’s Latu Latavao, sparking more excitement in the competition today, 10 April.
Tomorrow will be the last day of the 98th national inter-collegiate sporting event.
