Seven arrested in multiple drug raids in Tongatapu [1]

Seven people, including a teenager, were arrested in drug raids in various locations in Tongatapu last week. During the operations, authorities seized cannabis and money. All suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
On 27 March, during a targeted operation in Tatakamotonga, the Drug Squad arrested a 49-year-old male from Holonga and a 45-year-old female from Tatakamotonga. A search of the premises led to the seizure of an alleged 41 packs of cannabis weighing 18.83 grams, cannabis leaves weighing 10.25 grams, an additional plastic bag of cannabis leaves weighing 74.88 grams, a mobile phone, and 380 empty packs believed to be used for drug distribution.
On the same day, responding to further intelligence, the drug squad conducted another search at a residence in Holonga. This operation resulted in the arrest of two male suspects aged 17 and 21. Seized items included alleged cannabis seeds weighing 65.79 grams, 1 pack of cannabis weighing 0.59 grams, 2 bottle bongs, and 3 empty packs.
Acting on intelligence, the Drug Squad conducted an operation at a residence in Vaini, and confiscated during items including an alleged 1 pack of cannabis weighing 0.34 grams, loose cannabis leaves weighing 0.16 grams, 2 test tubes, 2 bottle bongs, a mobile phone, and cash TOP$12. Two male suspects, aged 40 and 45 from Vaini, were taken into custody.
On 2 April, a separate operation investigated alleged drug-related activity involving a resident of New 'Atata, Hihifo. The suspect, a 34-year-old male, was first located inside a vehicle in the Pahu/Kolofo'ou areas, Police seized further evidence at his residence in New 'Atata. Seized items included an alleged 30 packs of cannabis weighing 18.74 grams and cash of TOP$250.
All suspects are currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.
Police urged the public to continue reporting suspicious activities to their nearest Police stations.
