Tonga Police officers successfully completed a two-week Leadership Training Program, for ‘Emerging Leaders’ on 21 February 2025.
The program, conducted in partnership with the UK College of Policing, was completed by 25 Tonga Police officers.
Tonga Police Commissioner, Shane McLenan, who led the leadership training initiative, said in a Tonga police Facebook post [2], that the program would strengthen police leadership in Tonga.
“Leadership is not about ‘I’ or ‘me’ –it is about teamwork, collaboration, and building a strong foundation together,” he said.
The British High Commissioner to Tonga, Mr. Phillip Malone said that this was the first time a UK College of Policing training had been conducted in Tonga.
