Tonga Men's and Women's Sevens teams into Quarter-finals in Honiara [1]

The Tonga Men’s and Women’s teams are both through to the Quarter Finals of the 2024 Oceania Rugby Sevens, after the first day of exciting competition at the at the National Stadium in Honiara, Solomon Islands, yesterday, Saturday 7 December.
Featuring 15 men’s teams and nine women’s teams from across the Pacific, the tournament has already delivered thrilling matches, showcasing the exceptional skill and camaraderie of rugby sevens.
The event began with a vibrant captain’s photoshoot on December 6 at the National Stadium. Team captains proudly represented their nations, symbolizing the unity and strength of Pacific rugby, Oceania Rugby reported.
“The matches on Day 1 did not disappoint, with intense battles on the field keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Teams gave their all, vying for a strong position heading into the second day of competition.”
Tonga Women topped Pool C, defeating Cook Islands (31- 0) and Kiribati (52- 0) .
Tonga Men topped Pool D, defeating Solomon Islands (39-7), Niue (35-7) and Tahiti (42-0)
