TCC launches 5G mobile network [1]

A 5G network service for the Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC) was launched today by the Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku at the TCC head office, in Fasi-moe-afi, Nuku'alofa.
The 5G network is a new era of technology for TCC, with fast connectivity and low latency.
"It means that our current services will be better, with an upgrade speed from 4G, and more people will be able to use better services simultaneously," said TCC Chief Technology Officer, Iki Tu’itavake.
TCC CEO Sione Veikoso said, "This is a milestone that signifies not only technological progress but also our commitment to empowering Tonga with the best in digital innovations.”
The 5G launch today was supported and assisted by a team from Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices.
The PRime Minister, Hon. Hu'akavameiliku in his keynote address said the 5G will open doors to education, telemedicine, and e-government, therefore, "improving the quality of life of our people."
