Tongan PM visits Japan [1]

The Prime Minister, Hon Dr. Feleti Vaka'uta Sevele, will make an official visit to Japan next week, as the current Chairman of the Pacific Islands Forum, on the invitation of the Government of Japan.
During his visit, the Hon Prime Minister will have an audience with His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan. He will also have separate bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Japan, Hon. Yasuo Fukuda and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hon. Masahiko Koumura.
The agenda for the bilateral meetings will include: Relations between Japan and the member countries of the Pacific Islands Forum; Bilateral relations between Japan and Tonga; Climate Change; and Renewable Energy Resources and Technology.
The Government of Japan traditionally invites the Chairman of the Pacific Islands Forum every year to Tokyo for meetings on matters of mutual interest. They also host the triennial PALM Summit which brings together all the Leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan. PM Office, 20/03/08.
