House pushing to pass estimates during extensive budget debate [1]

The Budget debate in parliament, is continuing as the House is pushing to meet the 30 June deadline for the passing of the Government estimates for 2024-25. By today, the Whole House Committee had passed the draft estimates of seven government ministries, including the Vote for the Legislative Assembly's Office, during an extensive debate spanning over a week on the budget statement.
The seven ministries included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Auditor General’s Office, Ombudsman Office, Anti-Corruption Commissioner’s Office, His Majesty’s Armed Forces, Prime Minister’s Office, the Palace Office, and the Office of the Legislative Assembly.
Parliament resumes today, 24 June, debating Vote number 8, for the Ministry of Finance.
A special sitting was convened on Friday, 21 June, to push the work through the House.
"This session allowed legislators to thoroughly discuss the Government’s Budget, ensuring comprehensive scrutiny and deliberation," Parliament's Office declared.
