Man seriously injured in hit and run at Kolomotu'a [1]

A 31 year old male from Sopu was hit by a vehicle on Salote Road, Kolomotu'a, at about 12:50am on Sunday, 16 June. Tonga Police said the suspect, who was driving recklessly at high speed, had not been identified.
The victim sustained severe iniuries, including serious head wounds.
"Tonga Police continues to investigate this incident and urges the public to contact us with intormation that could assist in identifying the driver and vehicle that was involved in this incident."
Tonga Police also reminded drivers to adhere to speed limits, to drive sober, and to follow traffic regulations.
Any driver who is involved in an accident is required to stop at the scene.
“Pursuant to Section 47 of the Traffic Act, drivers involved in accidents are mandated to stop and offer assistance to the iniured berson and to report the accident to the nearest police station.”
