A hundred laptops, with laptop bags, mouse sets, and operating systems, were received by the Government on 16 May, donated by the Dongguan Municipal Government.
A visiting delegation from the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Guangdong Committee(CPPCC), was led by Vice-chairman of CPPCC Mr. Yuan Baocheng, who signed the handover and acceptance certificate with the PM Hon. Hu’akavameiliku.
“The continued assistance highlights the opportunity for e-learning with remote outer islands in Tonga and advances our partnership in transitioning education from traditional to modern levels," said the PM.
He also noted that these laptops would facilitate future developments of the educational programme between the Ministry of Education and Tonga National University (TNU) in finalising a concept design for the University's Campus.
