A 38 year old man from Longoteme was arrested by Tonga Police for recent spate of housebreaking and theft incidents involving the Tonga National University, Vaiola Hospital, and some churches in the Nuku’alofa district.
Tonga Police reported they have successfully recovered a significant portion of the stolen items. "During the investigation a substantial number of stolen items, including computers, televisions and electronic devices have been recovered."
Some of the stolen items were from the Tonga National University who announced this week that laptops, TV screens, speakers, 1 monitor plus connection wires, and a small fridge were stolen from their office at Fasi-moe-Afi.
"While significant progress has been made, our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community remains unwavering."
Tonga Police urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
