Three arrests made by Tonga Police in response to video of violent incident [1]

Three males from 'Anana were arrested by Tonga Police in response to a video depicting a violent incident that has circulated widely on social media platforms.

In a statement tonight, Tonga Police said two victims were involved in the incident, which occurred at ‘Utulau on Tongatapu. There are five suspects.

“We are pleased to announce that three males from ‘Ananä, aged between 18 and 55, have been arrested and charged with Common Assault. Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.”

“Tonga Police would like to assure the public that this incident is being taken very seriously, and our officers are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.

The Police stated that while significant progress had been made, the investigation remained ongoing.
