Tonga drugs squad seize over 17kg meth with three arrested [1]

Tonga Police have seized over 17 kilograms of methamphetamine in two separate operations since Friday, with three people arrested on Tongatapu.
The police drugs squad conducted an operation at Vaini on Friday, 5 April, where they arrested a 30 year old male, with over 12 kilograms of methamphetamine.
In another operation, on Monday 8 April, Tonga Police seized over 5 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden at a residence at Fasi-moe-afi, Nuku'alofa, after Police were informed of a suspicious package.
A 43 year old male from Kolonga and a 47 year old male from Fasi-moe-afi were arrested and charged with the possession of the methamphetamine seized.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Tonga Police also encouraged and thanked members of the public for the support in combatting illicit drugs.
