The second day of the Secondary Schools Athletic Sports Competition sponsored by TongaHealth, saw five events including 3000m track, 400m track, 100m hurdles, 100m sprints and 4x400m relay, today at Teufaiva Stadium.
Day Two of the competition started off with a "Zumba with Tonga Health", where cheerleaders and athletes from different schools showcased their aerobic routines.
Tupou College Toloa and Liahona ran toe-to-toe during the 4x400m Relays event for Senior Boys, however, Liahona overtook Toloa and won with a few meters to spare.
The 4x400 relays event for Senior Girls saw Tonga High coming in first place and 'Apifo'ou College in second place.
The “nationals” is a new grade added to this year’s sports event, however, their wins are not included in the medals tally.
The programme ran on longer than expected today and so the medals for this evening's events will be awarded tomorrow.
