A new classroom for ‘Ahopanilolo Technical Institute was commissioned yesterday, 13 March 2024.

A grant of USD 72,000 was funded by the Japanese government through their Grant Assistance for Grass Roots Human Security Project (GGP) for the construction of the classroom building

HE Mr Inagaki Hisao, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga, handed over the new building during a commissioning ceremony at the school compound.

Mr Inagaki hoped that the “vocational knowledge and skills” the students gained from this school would help them succeed not only in Tonga but around the world.

The Director of Catholic Schools, Mr. Soane Vahe, thanked the Ambassador for their assistance and said that the new facility would greatly provide a better service for the students of ‘Ahopanilolo.

Japan’s GGP, first assisted the Institute in 2012 with a laundry building.
