Australia supports Tongan athletes ahead of Paris Olympics [1]

As Tongan athletes prepare for the Paris Olympics 2024, the Australian government is showing their support through strengthening their partnership with TASANOC.
The Tonga Sports Association & National Olympic Committee (TASANOC) received support provided through an Australian funded program, PacificAus Sports.
TASANOC acknowledged the Pacific2Paris partnership with an event at their headquarters in Havelu, yesterday, 28 February,.
It stated that a number of National Federations including Athletics, Boxing, Swimming, Taekwondo, Rugby 7’s, Weightlifting and Sailing will benefit from this assistance.
The Paris 2024 Pacific Olympic and Paralympic Partnership program (Pacific2Paris) is delivered by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) and funded through DFAT’s PacificAus Sports.
The Pacific2Paris program builds on similar support provided for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
HE Rachael Moore said that it is important for Pacific athletes to be supported, including those from Tonga.
The President of TASANOC, Michael Bloomfield thanked Australia for supporting nine Tongan athletes since Tokyo, and now another 24.
The Paris Olympics run from 26 July to 11 August.
