Prepping for the 'Best Warrior Competition', the Nevada National Guard and His Majesties Armed Forces met this month to conduct a Subject Matter Expert Exchange’ (SMEE).
The SMEE involved the soldiers working together to improve soldiering skills and tasks that will prepare them for an upcoming competition between the state partners this upcoming Spring in the United States.
The NVNG soldiers and Airmen who led the exchange were Sgt. Hannah Kasner from the 152nd Airlift Wing, Staff Sgt. Keahi Granstorm and Spc. Irenko Lagodiuk from the 184th Transportation Co.
Physical training was led by both HMAF and NVNG, with NVNG providing familiarization on the US Army Combat Fitness Training. The engagement also encompassed the pre-hospital combat care, radio communications and an oral board to enhance enlisted skillsets.
"It challenged them, both mentally and physically, with safety briefs being given on the importance of stretching, understanding limitations, hydration, and overall safety throughout the successful exchange," stated NVNG
Four Tongan Marines [2] previously competed in the 2019 contest where Pvt. Sione Lonitenisi finished in second place. The other Tongans who competed include Pvt. Saevii Tonga, Pvt. Sione Atoa and Pvt. Dimitirous Polisima.
