Mr Koester in his letter to the editor on 22 November stated that, ". . . is better kept to yourself as your employer TBC could see a divulging of trade secrets and other ulterior motives behind that . . . " Thank you for making it finally clear to the broad public and myself that there was a commercial motive behind the Sky Pacific, Fiji 1 advertising broadcast in Vava'u.

For your information Mr. Koester, Tonga Broadcasting Commission - TBC, does not have anything to hide and again I would like to enlighten you that Tonga Broadcasting Commission was and is still a commercially operated business giving free service to the public.

TBC's daily operations depend on the little money we earn on a daily basis from simply selling airtime to who ever wants to use our services and the products we deliver through Radio and Television Tonga goes to all members of the public.

For the past few years Tonga Broadcasting Commission put up an FM Station and later Television Tonga was established.

These expansions have resulted in employing more staff and more expenses to be paid. The problem is Mr. Koester, there are costs.

In order for you to still enjoy this free service, Tonga Broadcasting Commission has got to look for other means of income to bear the costs and Sky Pacific is one of it. What is bad about that and what do we have to hide? To fully operate Television Tonga in Vava'u, we have to make sure there is sufficient funds available.

If I were you I'll just go ahead and donate at least one-million pa'anga.

I hope this short note will give you some understanding that Tonga Broadcasting Commission was and is still a Business.

All we are asking you is to have some patience while we are struggling to bring Television Tonga to your doorstep.
