The Royal Agricultural, Fisheries, Tourism and Trade Show for Ha'apai showcased a fine display of women's weaving, and an abundant supply of food and fish on 13 July.
King Tupou VI accompanied by Queen Nanasipau’u officiated the event and viewed a wealth of food crops, agricultural produce, fish, seafood, and handicrafts at the Lea'aetohi Grounds, where the work of farmers, fishermen, tradesmen and local businesses was on display
The King recognized and awarded participants for their hard work and resilience in overcoming what has been a tough couple years in Ha'apai, after the Hunga-Tonga Hunga-Ha'apai eruption and tsunamis, and COVID-19.
It was a happy occasion for the people to welcome the King and Queen to the outer islands.
Held under a theme 'Recovering from Hunga-Tonga Hunga-Ha’apai' the show began on Tongatapu and 'Eua in June.
The Prime Minister Hon. Hu'akavameiliku and MAFF Minister were also visiting Ha'apai for the show, with other guests.
