Tonga High School celebrates Diamond Jubilee [1]

Hundreds of Tonga High School ex-students and students celebrated their Diamond Jubilee Anniversary by marching through central Nuku’alofa on Friday morning, 7 July.
The colourful and cheerful march was part of the program held from 6-10 July to commemorate the government secondary school's anniversary.
The march was led by the Tonga Police Brass Band, and the first students, the Class of 1947. Tonga High School and Tonga College brass bands, joined in with the parade which followed an Annual General Meeting and a ball at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall on Friday night, 7 July.
On Saturday, 8 July the school will open a new library and hall at the school compound followed by a luncheon. On Sunday, 9 July, a thanksgiving service will be followed by feasting, and an evening praise of worship.
Other programs are scheduled for Monday, 10 July.
On 6 July 2023, a tree planting ceremony at the school compound, among other events were held to start off the anniversary celebrations.
