26th USP student council meeting at Tonga-campus [1]

Prime Minister Hon Hu’akavameiliku officially opened the 26th USP student council meeting on 22 June, held at the USP Tonga-Campus ‘Atele.
Attending the opening with student leaders were, Fiji's Minister for Lands and Mineral resources Hon Filimoni Vosarogo, USP Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia, and USP student association President Mr Lepani Nagarase.
Hon Hu’akavameiliku was pleased with the University’s progress across several areas and wished USP Management the best as they continued to shape the future of the Pacific.
“As future leaders of our Blue Pacific, it is very important that you stay united and work together to build mutual trust,” he said.
USP is the largest body of students in the Pacific and the association plays a vital role in working closely with the University.
“USPSA has done a good job in starting the Pacific Youth Movement on Good Governance in the Pacific since 2021,” he said.
He urged participants to continue learning from each other’s experience andto remember the marginalised in the society.
This is the second time that the Student Council Meeting has been held in Tonga.
