Central Nuku’alofa roads temporarily blocked for funeral of Princess [1]

Central roads in Nuku’alofa will be temporarily blocked for the funeral of HRH Princess Mele Siu’ilikutapu Kalaniuvalu Fotofili.
Tonga Police today announced the royal funeral is due to arrive in Nuku’alofa, later this afternoon to be followed by a vigil tonight at the Royal Palace.
The roadblocks will be lifted once the funeral services are completed on Saturday, 3 June at around 4:00pm, without any further announcement.
Police officers will be posted at each intersection to manage traffic flow and ensure safety on our roads.
Police appealed to the public for their understanding, patience, and cooperation during this event and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of these public roads.
