Tonga’s flags to fly half-mast for funeral of Princess [1]

Flags will be flown at half-mast in Tonga on Saturday, 3 June in respect of the funeral of HRH Princess Mele Siu'ilikutapu Kalaniuvalu Fotofili.

The Prime Minister, Hon. Hu'akavameiliku issued this decree in Nuku'alofa today, 2 June. 

The royal funeral cortege arrived at Fua'amotu International Airport this afternoon from Auckland.

The royal funeral procession proceeded to the Royal Palace, for an overnight vigil. Prayer services will be held, starting from 6:00pm until midnight.

On Saturday morning, 3 June, the royal funeral cortege will make its way from the Royal Palace to the Royal Tombs, where the funeral service and interment will be held.
