Miss Tonga, Vesalua Tupou, was crowned the Continental Queen for Oceania at the 2023 Face of Beauty International preliminary competition on 16 March, in the Philippines.

The pageant’s website stated today that a slew of special awards and sub-titles were awarded at the University of Saint Anthony in Iriga, Camarines Sur, where Vesalua was awarded the title, 'Miss Face of Beauty International, Continental Queen of Oceania.'

Other countries competing from Oceania are Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji and Solomon Islands.

Vesalua is a 23 year-old student at the University of the South Pacific.

Vava'u.

She was born and raised in Vava'u to family of 15 children, where she stood out, with her big dreams and goals. "She grew up always having a passion for modeling and pageants," Lady Fakatulolo (Vesalua's sister) told Matangi Tonga.

Vesalua's number one supporter is her father, 'Uhila Tupou who has been traveling to support her as she competes in the pageant. 

For the other contestants, Europe was won by Miss Azerbaijan, Africa by Kenya, Asia by Japan and Americas by Brazil.

The beauty competition ends next week 22 March 2023, with the final crowning of the Miss Face of Beauty International winner.

The Pageant

Face of Beauty International was created in 2012. The title ‘Face of Beauty International’ has grown to become an internationally renowned beauty pageant, hosted in the countries of Thailand, Taiwan, Mongolia, India and the Philippines.

The Face of Beauty International pageant aims to develop young female leaders from around the world with the goal to empower contestants to find beauty and to become that beauty. Candidates participate in charity events, workshops and symposiums, preliminary competitions, while traveling across the host country together. Candidates must prove themselves intelligent, well mannered, and a confident figure for women around the world.
