Tonga's Civil Servants ended their week with excitement showing off their sports gear and heading for their first weekly sports day at 'Api Fo'ou College field this afternoon.

Mosese Fonohema the Secretary of the Civil Servants newly-established Sports Committee said the crowd consisted of about 1,000 people.

He said the purpose of the sports day is for public servants to strive for good health and get to know each other through this fun event.

The day began with aerobics, and the public servants wore matching t-shirts of various colours to represent each Government Ministry they come from.
