Police investigation into the death of Talanoa Leakona Lemoto (35) is ongoing with reportable outcomes expected soon. 

Commissioner Shane McLennan said on December 19: “the police investigation, led by the PD1 Criminal Investigation Unit remains current and ongoing, therefore it would be inappropriate to comment further. Tonga Police expects to have some reportable outcomes later this week."

Meanwhile, Talanoa who went missing on Wednesday night, 7 December was found on 13 December, when divers at Tu’imatamoana Wharf recovered his body inside his orange car, underwater.

A Police investigation was launched to determine the cause of death.

From Hala-’o-vave, Talanoa was reported missing by his family, when he didn’t return home, after his last sighting on the night of 7 December, at Nauti Ruby's Bar in Ma'ufanga.
