Health clinics better equipped with digital weighing scales [1]

Health centres and clinics in Tonga are better equipped to monitor community health, with 50 digital weighing scales donated by Tanita, a Japanese company, working in collaboration with the Tonga Red Cross.
The scales will allower health professionals monitor people's weight, and to tackle rising Non Communicable Diseases.
Moala Lutui of the Ministry of Health said the support will enable efficient delivery of primary health care services at the community level, reaching the health centers in the outer islands.
Nakano San from Tanita said they had thought of how best they might support the people of Tonga after the tsunami. They donated the WB-380 scales to contribute to monitoring the health issues of the people.
Tonga Red Cross Secretary-General, Sione Taumoefolau commended the generous donation from Tanita during challenging times.
