Tongan women's team in plate finals at International Defence Rugby [1]

The Ngahau Siliva, His Majesty’s Armed Forces Women’s Rugby Team, was defeated by the United Kingdom in the plate final 11-44, at the first International Defence Rugby Competition in Auckland on 25 October.
The IDRC final, saw the New Zealand Defence team go head-to-head with France in the finals to secure the trophy.
France secured the trophy with 9-8 to New Zealand, and won the very first IDRC championships.
Fiji took on Australia in the bronze final and secured a win with 36-28.
The competition results;
- IDRC Championships – French Armed Forces
- Silver Medal – New Zealand Defence Force
- Bronze Medal – Republic of Fiji Military Forces
- Fourth Place – Australian Defence Force
- Plate – United Kingdom Armed Forces
The IDRC has seen international defence women from United Kingdom, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Tonga, Vanuatu, France and Fiji come together to play in the championships.
The teams competed outstandingly while cheering each other on, showing their outstanding passion for rugby.
