Special Commemorative Service in Nuku'alofa for Queen Elizabeth II at 6:00pm [1]

A Service of Commemoration for the Late Queen Elizabeth II will be held at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Nuku'alofa today Wednesday 14 September at 6:00pm, with an open invitation.
Maryanne Saafi, Executive Assistant at the British High Commission in Nuku'alofa said they were organising the service in partnership with the Rev. Colleen Cowley, St Paul’s Anglican Church and the Anglican communities in Nuku’alofa.
“There is an open invitation to all who wish to attend this service.”
Book of Condolences
At the same time, a Book of Condolence in honour of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been opened to the public, at the British and New Zealand High Commissions’ office in Nuku'alofa
The Book of Condolence will remain open to Friday 16 September, from 9:00am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:00pm. It will also be available for signing on Monday, 19 September during the same times, before the book will be closed.
Among other officials who have signed the book, was the Speaker of Tonga's Legislative Assembly Lord Fakafanua.
Parliament stated, that the Speaker through the British High Commission’s Office in Nuku’alofa “conveyed the deepest condolences of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga to His Majesty King Charles III, the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom on the loss of their Sovereign, Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”
This included, condolence letters to the Speaker of the House of Lords, Rt Hon Lord McFall of Alcluith and to the Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt. Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
"In these letters, Lord Fakafanua conveyed the Legislative Assembly’s profound sympathies and expressed their sincere appreciation for Her Majesty’s decades of strong and steady leadership, not only in the United Kingdom but also throughout Her Commonwealth Family of Nations, in which Tonga remains a proud member."
HE Lucy Joyce, British High Commissioner to Tonga, received the Speaker who was accompanied by the Chief Clerk, Gloria Pole’o.
