The Legislative Assembly of Tonga resumed sitting on Monday 5 September, after MPs completed their annual constituency visits, from August 15-31.

The agenda resumed with deliberations on Government Ministries' Annual Reports.

On 5 September, the Whole House Committee passed the annual reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 2020/21 and Ministry of Tourism 2020/21.

Deliberation continued on 6 September, where Parliament passed the annual reports for the:

• Ministry of Public Enterprises 2020/21,
• Ministry of Finance 2020/21,
• MEIDECC 2020/21 with amendments;
• Ministry of Justice 2020/21,
• Attorney General's office 2017 and January 2020 to June 2021,
• Electoral Commission 202½1 with amendments.

Lord Tu’iha’angana is currently Acting Speaker.

Parliament's office stated that the constituency visit was an opportunity for members to meet and discuss with their electorates, the issues impacting them.
