Queen presents new truck to Mango Island community [1]

Queen Nanasipau’u today presented a gift of a new truck to the evacuated people of Mango for transport, when they re-settle at Ta'anga in 'Eua.
The Mango community were relocated from Ha'apai to Tongatapu immediately after the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcanic eruption and tsunamis on January 15 destroyed their homes and livelihood on the small island.
The ToyoAce was received by Mango community leader, Rev. Kisina Toetu’u of the Free Wesleyan Church, who expressed their gratitude to the Queen and all those who assisted.
The Palace Office stated that the island community had wished for a van to use when they relocate to 'Eua. Through a joint collaboration between the Paletu'a Project, the Palace Office and a local business Spare Parts Zone, their wish came true.
The Director of Spare Parts Zone, Mr Mohammed Razak also assisted in a major part of the Toyota's cost.
The Paletu'a Project is led by King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u to build new settlements for the hundreds of people of Kanokupolu and Mango, who were severely affected by the natural disasters.
Mango's resettlement technical design component comes under the Paletu'a Project.
Government is rebuilding the houses for the Mango community on land allocated by the King in 'Eua.
