Five candidates for Ha’apai 12 By-Election on September 1 [1]

Five candidates are contesting the By-Election for Ha’apai 12 on 1 September. 

The Electoral Commission office today closed the nomination of candidates at the Governor’s Office in Pangai.

Candidates

  1. 1. Saimone Kapetaua Vuki, Felemea
  2. 2. Mo’ale Finau, Hihifo
  3. 3. Sione Finau Tapu, Holopeka
  4. 4. Tevita Tu’ipulotu Vi (aka Vimahi), Pangai
  5. 5. Tevita Vaikona, 'Uiha

Except for Tu’ipulotu and Vaikona, three of the candidates contested for this same constituency in the 2021 General Election and were unsuccessful. 

This By-Election is to replace the former Ha'apai 12 People’s Representative to the Legislative Assembly, Vili Hingano who passed away on 10 June.
