Bodies of NZ couple found in Vava'u [1]

The deaths of a New Zealand couple, whose bodies were found at 'Utungake in Vava'u on Saturday, are being investigated by Tonga Police.
The New Zealand High Commission, consular officer, Mark Santos, said he was informed on Saturday of their passing, by Tonga Police.
“I can confirm they were Kiwis,” he said today.
No further details were available from Tonga Police, who are continuing their investigation.
Early local reports in Neiafu, indicated that the couple were Ben and Rochelle Neill, who owned the Hakau Adventures, offering snorkeling tours in Vava'u.
The Vava'u ExPats Facebook page posted a sympathy message today:
“Our sincerest condolences on the sudden passing of Ben and Rochelle. They were special people and will be missed by many. Sending prayers to their family during this difficult time... .”
Meanwhile, it is understood that local people had found two decomposing bodies and that Police had recovered them. They were taken to Neiafu Hospital mortuary, before being returned to 'Utungake for burial on Sunday.
Tonga Police said more information would be released later.

“It's a tragedy for the New Zealand community, who lost another member last Friday,” said Mark, referring to the death of a local businessman, Neill Jenkin (72), on March 31 at Vaiola Hospital, Nuku'alofa, after a short illness.
