Three arrested with drugs and utensils [1]

Three men have been arrested and charged in relation to possession of illicit drugs and utensils, at different locations on Tongatapu, during the current lockdown due to COVID-19.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Halatoa Taufa said today, the accused were initially arrested for breaching the curfew and were found with the illicit drug and utensils.
He said a 37-year-old man from Tofoa was arrested with 0.36 grams of methamphetamine, on March 11.
On March 13, a 20-year-old was arrested with drug utensils at Houma; wWhile, a 27-year-old was arrested with drug utensils on March 14, in Ngele’ia.
They have been charged with possession of illicit drugs and utensials, as well as for breaching the curfew.
At the same time, the A/Deputy Commissioner said the Drugs Taskforce remain committed towards combating illicit drugs in our communities, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.
The Taskforce continues its normal operation.
