Weddings keep Nuku'alofa Registry busy in December [1]

Eighty-two marriages have been registered this month by the Nuku'alofa Registry, as December remained the most popular month for couples to tie the knot, before government closes for the Christmas holidays on 20 December.

The Registry Office in Nuku'alofa reported that the 82 marriages registered so far this month was the highest recorded in a month for 2021.

Today, 19 marriages were registered. Tuesday, December 9, was the busiest day of nuptials with 22 marriages registered.

The last working day for government offices is tomorrow, Friday, December 17. 

Meanwhile, excited family and friends of the newlyweds were honking horns and driving decorated vehicles around town to celebrate the unions.
