USP to hold Open Week virtually [1]
Tuesday, August 17, 2021 - 17:00. Updated on Monday, September 6, 2021 - 16:33.
The University of the South Pacific is planning to hold their annual open week virtually this year due to COVID-19, from 30 August to 3 September, to allow prospective students from across the region to explore the university’s programmes and courses.
USP Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia said he is excited about the Virtual Open Week because USP staff were going the extra mile to host the event, despite the current situation in Fiji.
"This week provides an opportunity for working people intending to study at USP in Semester 1, 2022, to visit our website and access information.
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people may have lost their jobs, are working reduced hours or are looking at re-skilling and looking for new opportunities; this is your time to do so," he said.
Students can register for USP’s Virtual Open Week via the link https://bit.ly/USPOpenWeek [2].
The university is also offering students in Fiji who don’t have access to the internet, the chance to register via phone number (679) 210 1158, for an Open Day Offline Package to be delivered to them.
During the USP Virtual Open Week, students have the opportunity to:
- View videos about Bachelor's and Master's study programmes;
- Chat with staff;
- Find out about the steps for admission to USP;
- Learn about visa applications for an international student;
- Assistance in finding accommodation;
- Information about student life at USP; and
- Working, study skills and career possibilities.
