Tonga police seized 4.69 grams of methamphetamine and arrested 13 men and two women aged 22 to 46-years -old at Kolofo’ou, Ha’ateiho, Tofoa and Ma’ufanga in Tongatapu between May 24-31.

Acting Deputy Commissioner, Detective Halatoa Taufa of the National Crime and Investigations said that on 4 June, 4.69 grams of methamphetamine, drug utensils, electronic devices and cash were seized.

Criminal charges have been laid against the 13 men and two women for unlawful possession of illicit drugs, destruction of evidence and for resisting arrest, he said.

“Police will continue to target drugs related activities and I urge the public to continue to support Police by sharing information.”
