Repatriates released from quarantine after negative COVID-19 test [1]

The 247 passengers repatriated to Tonga from Auckland, Pagopago, and Apia earlier this month tested negative for COVID-19, confirmed Ministry of Health Acting CEO, Dr Reynold ‘Ofanoa this morning.

“They were released last night.”

Dr ‘Ofanoa added that frontline staff tested negative to COVID-19 as well.

The 247 passengers included 241 repatriated from Auckland on May 5, while, three returned from Apia and another three from Pagopago on May 6.

They were quarantined for 21 days at the Tanoa Hotel and Makeke Camp in Vaini.
