93% of COVID-19 vaccine batch used [1]

The first batch of COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccines is almost finished with 93% used so far, confirmed the Ministry of Health this afternoon, 21 May.
Around 25,970 people have received their first dose including 1,669 people on ‘Eua who were vaccinated this week.
None of the vaccines were wasted and no extreme allergic reactions have been reported on Tongatapu and 'Eua, according to the Ministry.
At least 26,818 people have been registered as at today, 21 May.
A total of 150 health staff are working on the vaccine rollout with 6 teams dispatched, including two mobile teams and two teams in ‘Eua.
The Ministry is urging eligible people aged 30 years and above, or aged 18 years and above with an NCD or a disability, to get vaccinated before the first batch is completed. Vaccinations are available at Digicel Square and the NCD Centre at Vaiola Hospital.
