Seven arrested in drug busts [1]

Seven people have been arrested and charged, after the seizure of methamphetamine and cannabis at six different locations in Tongatapu.
The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce seized 8.80 grams of methamphetamine, 199.11 grams of cannabis and drug utensils between April 19-30.
One of the drug busts was at a home Nukunuku on April 27, with two men aged 29 and 24 found with illict drugs, including 6.84 grams of methamphatamine.
Another 150.50 grams of cannabis were seized on a 40-year-old man, who had returned from 'Eua at Faua Wharf today.
The other drug seizures were made at other locations.
Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said today these arrests were the result of an ongoing operation targeting drug dealers and suppliers.
The accused (aged 26-40 years) who have been charged with possession will appear at the Magistrate’s Court on a later date.
"Police are committed to disrupt and detect the supply of drugs and hold those responsible to account. We encourage anyone who may have information about drug related offending to contact 7401660," he said.
