More than 300 graduates from two Government Tertiary Institutes received their certificates and diplomas on December 10, during a Combined Awards Ceremony.

HRH Princess Pilolevu Tuita made the presentations and congratulated graduates on their academic achievements, at Falemasiva Hall in Tailulu College.

The Tonga Institute of Education (TIOE) awarded more than 60 graduates with Initial Certificate in Teaching and Diploma in Education to teachers in primary and secondary levels.

While the Tonga Institute of Higher Education (TIHE) awarded 259  graduates with a range of certificates and diplomas from information systems, computer science, accounting, media and journalism to agricultural science, business, information technology, customer services, tour guiding, tourism and hospitality, among others. 

This is the final awards ceremony for Tonga in 2020 and despite the global pandemic, Tonga has forged on and completed its academic year in all levels.

The awards ceremony was full with proud families attending the event at the hall.
