One hundred and seventy-five repatriated passengers arrived at Fua’amotu International Airport from Auckland, New Zealand yesterday, 19 November, confirmed Tonga Police this morning.

Sixty four (64) of the passengers will spend the next 14 days in quarantine at Makeke Camp in Vaini, while the remainder will stay at the Tanoa Hotel International Dateline Hotel in Nuku’alofa.

Members of the public are prohibited from entering both properties, except for essential Tanoa Hotel and Makeke Camp employees, emergency officers, medical emergency officers, and authorized officers.

Vuna Road and Tupoulahi Road will also be blocked in the vicinity of the Tanoa Hotel during the quarantine period.

The total number of repatriated passengers to Tonga so far is now 846.  

Meanwhile, another repatriation flight from Brisbane, Australia is scheduled to arrive in Tonga next Tuesday, 24 November.

Yesterday, police reported that 178 passengers were arriving, but finalised the figure at 175 today.
