Couple arrested with meth at Sopu [1]

A couple was arrested and charged with offences relating to possession of 10.66 grams of methamphetamine ready for distribution at their home in Sopu on October 15.
Tonga Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce made the arrest in an ongoing drug operation targeting drug dealers and suppliers.
They said the 37-year-old husband and his 29-year-old wife were arrested with 22.70 grams of cannabis, 31 packs of methamphetamine ready for distribution (10.66 grams) and drug utensils.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said today, both had been charged accordingly with possession of the illicit drugs. They are expected to appear at the Magistrate's Court on a later date.
"Police, partner agencies and community together will win this war against drugs and safeguard our children and the future of Tonga from its ill effects."
