Tonga's Royal Family remain apart during COVID-19 pandemic [1]

The immediate family of HM King Tupou VI remain abroad during the CoViD-19 pandemic.
HM’s Secretary Sione Fifita said this week that Queen Nanasipau’u is staying in Auckland, and had not returned to Tonga due to the border closure.
Their only daughter, Princess Angelika Latufuipeka is based in Canberra as Tonga’s High Commissioner to Australia.
The two royal princes are undertaking further studies abroad.
Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala is currently studying for his Master of Diplomacy at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. He previously attained a Master of Military and Defence in 2018 accredited by ANU.
The Crown Prince is in Canberra with his wife, Crown Princess Sinaitakala Tuku'aho, and their three children.
Prince Ata is currently studying in New Zealand.
Tonga’s borders have been closed since March 23, and there have been only two repatriation flights to Tonga, one from Fiji and and one from New Zealand.
