Methamphetamine seized by Tonga Police, 30 July 2020.

Two men, including a 31-year-old male police officer were arrested with seven packs of methamphetamine on Vuna Road last week.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said the arrests were made on July 30 targeting drug dealers who sell drugs from vehicles.

The suspended police officer from Hauloto and a 30-year-old man from Ma’ufanga were arrested with seven packs of methamphetamine (3.22 grams) and drug utensils. 

Both men remained in police custody as the Police investigation continued.

The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce were continuing their efforts to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs that negatively impact our communities, said the A/Deputy Commissioner.
