A 45-year-old man died in a fatal crash on Halaliku Road at ‘Utulau on Sunday, July 26.

A Tonga Police spokesperson said today the accident occurred at around 8:00am.

He was heading east when his vehicle swerved, hitting first a traffic sign and then a coconut tree on the side of the road.

Police alleged that alcohol and speeding were factors in the crash.

This is the second road death so far this year.
