Meth seized targeting suppliers in vehicles [1]

Two men were arrested with methamphetamine and over $1,500 pa’anga cash seized at two different locations in Tongatapu yesterday, Tuesday, June 23.
Tonga Police Acting Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said the arrests were made in an ongoing operation targeting drug dealers and suppliers selling drugs from their vehicles.
The Drug Enforcement Taskforce first arrested a 42-year-old man at Pahu with 10 packs of methamphetamine (4.76 grams), over $800 pa’anga cash and drug utensils.

Afterwards on the same day at Kahoua, the Drug Taskforce arrested a 38-year-old man from Hofoa in a vehicle.
Seized were 0.35 grams of methamphetamine, over $700 pa’anga cash and drug utensils.
Both have been charged with possession of illicit drugs and are expected to appear at the Magistrate’s Court later.
Tonga Police are committed to disrupting the supply of drugs and preventing the harm this illegal trade supports, said A/Deputy Commissioner Vailea.
